BOOTS was known for decades as the ÒSweetheart of America,Ó as she graced the comic pages of the newspapers and fought off suitor after suitor. BOOTS AND HER BUDDIES told the story of a young American gal and her friends as they side-stepped and stumbled their way through the real world. She graduated to the comics in 1948 after a couple decades of college (wow Ð she must be smart!) and finally choosing a guy to marry. Still young at heart and mind, BOOTS continued to entertain not only in the comics, but in newspaper well into the 1960s, making her one of the most popular and longest-running strips in history. Created and drawn by Edgar Everett ÒAbeÓ Martin, this collection is taken from her Standard Comics series, five great misadventures issues!
NOTE: The later (ARGO 1955) BOOT AND HER BUDDIES series is so different in tone, style and content, that we will present that as a separate collection.
